The All India Gems and Jewelry Federation recently installed Mr. Haresh Chaman bhai Soni as the new Chairman of GJF at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai recently. The event began with the ceremonious lighting of the lamp. Attended by members of GJF and jewelers from all over the country, Mr. Bachhraj Bamaiwa , the outgoing chairman of GJF handed over the charge of GJF Chairman to Mr. Soni.
Mr. Soni, one of the founder members of GJF, has been voted Chairman Elect for the term 2013- 2015 along with the newly formed Executive Committee. Addressing the august gathering, he said, “I have gained and learnt immensely from my experience. As chairman, the benefits I have derived on a professional, personal and social level are quite extraordinary. On a professional front – GJF is like pursuing a full time MBA degree. He also said that it would be a privilege to be working with Mr. Manish Jain, the newly appointed vice- chairman of GJF. As part of his new role as chairman with the newly formed executive committee was to strengthen and consolidate GJF presence all across the country and to reach out to people belonging to the jewelry industry and get them under a single platform. He also wants to undertake various educational and training program to all stake holders for the benefit of jewelry industry. He also would like to create a conducive environment for business growth so that people belonging to the trade should benefit and prosper. Mr. Soni also plans to consolidate and build on the existing GJF structure – its policies and its charter, wherein his approach would be bottom to top wherein every voice is heard and every person at the grass root level is also communicated to and becomes a part of the system.
Mr. Soni also assured the august gathering that existing projects like National Jewelry Award, Preferred Manufacturer of India (PMI), GJF Night, Leadership Summits and Education and Training programs would continue and the Trust Mark Program would also be introduced.
The outgoing chairman Mr. Bachhraj Bamaiwa was also felicitated with a coffee-table book showcasing the brightest moments of his tenure.
